Boomer Farm Fun Ride!!!

This very popular ride is back!

Sunday 15th May

Starting at the foothills of the Quantocks, you will enjoy private farmland, woods, and tracks, in the most beautiful setting. There will be various OPTIONAL jumps from brush fences, tyres, barrels, rails, and optional stream crossings.

There will be a long route between 10-12 miles, and a short route at 5-6 miles.

*Goody bags or a Rosette for all.

* Refreshments on site CARD OR CASH ACCEPTED

£18 for adults

£10 for 12 and under

*Hourly time slots will be available upon entry- please try as best as you can to arrive within that hour, although we do fully understand if for some reason you are late, your entry will still stand.

*For those wishing to ride at a more leisurely pace we advise you selecting a earlier time slot to avoid keeping all our volunteers who have given up their day waiting longer than necessary!

*ESSENTIAL PLEASE READ*

The TVF fun ride is being organised by a small group of volunteers and with kind permission of landowners and farmers.  They very much hope you will all enjoy the opportunity to ride over some beautiful countryside but please note everybody must adhere to the current Covid Guidance.

GATES will NOT open before 8.30am

• There will be two car parking fields, one for 7.5 tonne lorries, and the other for 2 horse lorries and trailers, both will be clearly sign posted, with parking stewards to assist you.
• Upon arrival please collect your number from the secretary who will be stationed in the lorry park clearly signed.
• Riders need to be aware that there may be walkers, cyclists and other riders using the same bridleways on the public stretches of land. Our riders do not have any higher privileges than any other user. Please be respectful at all times.
• The Route will be marked with pink flagging tape as well as directional signs.
• Road crossings, there will be a couple of short stretches of road work on both routes.
• Margins -PLEASE keep to the edge of any fields that are clearly signposted asking you to do so.
• Refreshments-We will be selling bacon & sausage baps, rolls pork rolls, hot and cold drinks and cakes at the finish, so don’t leave hungry! Card/Cash accepted.
• Weather- The forecast is looking to be hot and sunny, so please ensure you bring plenty of water, as there will not be any on site. Due to the nature of the location you will encounter hills! Please be aware of your horses fitness and opt for the shorter route if you think it is necessary.
• Goody Bag- Please also make sure you all come and collect your ‘goody bag’ from the secretary once you have completed. We do have a small number of Rosettes for those who would prefer one to a goody bag.

Cliff Road

North Petherton

TA6 6PD

From the A38 in North Petherton, please take the road 'Watery Lane' which will wiggle around an s-bend, go all the way to the end and at the T-junction turn left, go over a small bridge, until you get to the road signposted 'Cliff Road' on your right. Go up Cliff Road for about a mile, past the end of speed limit signs, until you get to a right hand turn which will be signposted 'Fun Ride'. There will also be a traffic steward there in hi vis.  Take that road which will lead to the drive to Boomer Farm.
